Dr. Bartell was born in 1974 in Odessa, Texas, and grew up in Caldwell. After high school he joined the Aggie population as a member of the pre-dental society. Between learning to fly a Piper Tomahawk, mastering sky diving techniques, and meeting his wife Kim, he found time to study and graduated Cum Laude in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University. From College Station, Dr. Bartell went to The University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio Dental School, where he earned extensive honors and awards including; The Student Award of Merit for outstanding achievement in the pursuit of excellence in the undergraduate study of Esthetic Dentistry from The American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry and the Award for Clinical Excellence in General Dentistry. Dr. Bartell attained Exemplary Achievement on both parts of the National Boards of Dentistry and graduated Suma Cum Laude. While in Dental School, Dr. Bartell enjoyed using his time and skills to serve on various Dental mission trips. After graduation Dr. Bartell was one of six students chosen nationwide to participate in a prestigious residency program in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Audie Murphy Veterans Hospital in San Antonio. He spent one year in this rigorous internship position learning cutting-edge dentistry techniques and gaining valuable experience in the areas of endondontics, periodontics, restorative dentistry and implantology. Dr. Bartell is actively involved in the Fort Worth Dental community, maintaining membership in the Fort Worth Dental Study Club, Fort Worth District Dental Society, Texas Dental Association, American Dental Society, and Academy of General Dentistry. After meeting Dr. Howorth and discovering a mutual love for small aircraft and commitment to great dentistry as well as shared ethics and values, Dr. Bartell decided to join the team at Tom C. Howorth D.D.S. Inc., in the summer of 2004. Dr. Bartell maintains an active pilot license to keep up with Dr. Howorth and is looking forward to joining him in Mexico on the next bi-annual mission trip. Dr. Bartell and Kim reside in Fort Worth and are members of First United Methodist Church. On the weekend Dr. Bartell can be found volunteering his skills at Beautiful Feet Ministry or practicing his swing on the golf-course. |
